Hi.  I'm Myrna...

It was a city-wide evangelistic service that I accepted Christ as my Savior.  I was 13 years old and in the 9th grade.  My parents had always been very faithful in taking my brother, sister, and me to all the services of the church so my habits did not change when I was saved.  However, the services were more meaningful and my desire to serve the Lord was more intense.

After graduation from high school. I attended and graduated from Moody Bible Institute and Taylor University.  It was a t Taylor that I met Nate, my husband.  We've enjoyed serving the Lord together for 52 years, 38 of them at North Park.We and our three children moved to Grand Rapids in 1970 and our first project was to find a church where we could worship.  The first two Sundays we were in Grand Rapids, Nate attended two area churched alone while I stayed home with sick children.  He did not feel comfortable in either church so during the week he talked to our friend Dr. Wiens, a former member of North Park.  Dr. Wiens invited us to come with him and Mrs. Wiens the following Sunday.  We and our three children were happy to do so.  We were impressed by the teaching and preaching of God's Word and by the warmth with which the pastor and people welcomed us.  There was no reason to look any further for we had found our church home.  In fact, I've never attended a Sunday service in any other Grand Rapids church!I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had to serve in the area of music and in the church office the last 30+ years!

Thank you, North Park, for your continued warmth and love.
